Week 4 of the college baseball season was filled with three big time performances coming from cheese state programs. Gradin Taschner paced the way for Madison College, shredding the Williston State Offense with 10 Ks. Carson Hansen has a breakout week with the bat, pounding out 6 doubles and helping the Milwaukee Panthers secure the victory against WKU.   Congrats to this week’s award winners.  

Pitcher of the Week:

Gradin Taschner:  Madison College:  Wichita State Commit

Taschner, the Wichita State commit, was dominant in his first career start for Madison College over the weekend.  Gradin went 5 innings allowing 1 hit, 0 runs while striking out 10 batters.  Taschner also received the win for the Wolfpack.  

 

Offensive Player of the Week:

Carson Hansen:  Milwaukee

Extra base hits was Carson’s theme this week as the Panther sophomore went 6 for 21 at the plate with all 6 of his hits being doubles.  Carson scored 4 runs and added 3 RBI for a solid week.  

 

Freshman of the Week:   

Ryan Drumm:  Butler University

The young Bulldog went 3-10 on the week including his second HR on the young season.  Drumm also added a double with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  

 

Honorable Mention:

Pitcher:  Rory Fox:  Notre Dame

Threw 3.1 innings against Virginia Tech allowing 2 hits and 1 ER while striking out 3.  

 

Offensive:  Gabe Richardson:  University of Minnesota Duluth

9 for 23.  2 Runs scored 5 Rbi to go with 2 doubles.  

 

Freshman:  Camden Broske:  Madison College

3 innings pitched 2 hits 0 earned runs while striking out 2.
