Week 4 of the college baseball season is now behind us as we witnessed several notable performances.  This past week saw a number of schools take the field for the first time this spring.  Already looking forward to Week 5 as all of our alumni will be in action this week.  Best of luck to all.

Pitcher of the Week:  Thomas Harper – Illinois State

Harper had another solid week for the Redbirds as the junior righthander held #24 Oklahoma State scoreless over his 2.2 innings of work allowing 1 hit on 1 strikeout.  Harper earned the save against the Cowboys in the Friday night opener.  

 

Hitter of the Week:  Ashton Kampa  – Bryant & Stratton College

The sophomore left handed slugger is coming off of a stellar 2024 season and he started off right where he ended last season for the Bobcats.  Kampa started off the season and the Bobcats spring trip by going 11 for 26, scoring 10 runs while driving in 11.  He added 3 doubles, a triple and 3 dingers.  

 

Freshman of the Week:  Bradyn Nelson – Bryant & Stratton College 

The Freshman outfielder started out his college career with a productive spring trip for the Bobcats. On the week Bradyn went 6 for 16 scoring 5 runs and drove in 7.  He added to the mix with 2 doubles, a triple and his first collegiate homerun.

Vince Zipperer – Cornell College:  7 for 17, 4 runs with 1 – 2b 

 

Noah Dreier – St. Xavier:  7 for 11, 3 runs, 5 rbi, 3 2b’s

 

Ryan Richter – UW Oshkosh:  2.2ip, 0 hits, 0 runs, 2 K’s 

 

Adam Switalski – Lipscomb University:  3ip, 1 hit, 0 runs, 1K
