Week 13 of the college baseball season meant the beginning of conference tournaments at the D2 and D3 levels and 1st round of Regionals for the Junior Colleges.  Several of our guys will be moving on to the next level and looking forward to following postseason play.  Congrats on a great week by all of our guys.

Pitcher of the Week: Erick Tiegs:  Beloit College 

Tiegs got the start in the conference tournament for Beloit College and earned the win.  Erick worked 6 innings, allowed 3 hits, didn’t allow any runs and struck out 2.  Tiegs’ performance helped the Buccaneers advance to the D3 Regional this coming weekend.  

Hitter of the Week:  Dylan Nevar:  Western Michigan  

The Broncos senior outfielder had a fantastic week highlighted by a walk off hit versus Michigan State.  Nevar finished the week 12 for 24, scored 3 runs, drove in 7 and added 4- doubles, a triple and a HR.  Nevar enters the final week of the regular season as the 2nd all time hits leader at WMU, 2nd in career HR’s, career leader in total bases and RBI’s.  Amazing career.
